Horizon Natuurvoeding is a producer of 100 % organic syrups, nut and seed butters. We import the raw materials ourselves. Organic raw materials arrive here from all over the world. In the in-house production line, they are processed into nuts and seeds butters. The production process of the nut and seed butters involves roasting, shelling or mixing, grinding and filling. We fill the syrups and pastes in pots of 175, 250, 330, 350, 500 and 650 grams. The mechanical filling of organic syrups is a speciality in which we have many years of experience. We minimise the use of plastic. Our syrups and pastes are filled in glass jars with tin lids; both materials are 100% recyclable.
We package organic nuts, seeds and dried tropical fruits in-house. This process takes place in IJsselstein using specialised machines and is supervised by our staff. The packaging of nuts, seeds and dried tropical fruits varies from 50 grams to 25 kilos. As we have control over the packaging, we can quickly adapt and scale up or down for different quantities. We minimise the use of plastic. For packaging, we only use polypropylene film. This mono film contains no PVC/pvdc and is also 100% recyclable. By monitoring new developments, we can continue to innovate our packaging towards more sustainable systems.
Horizon Natuurvoeding is based in IJsselstein. Organic raw materials arrive here from all over the
world. Wholesale customers, like catering and bakeries, can also approach us for top-quality organic
ingredients. All our nut pastes, nuts, seeds and dried tropical fruits can be customised. Various
organic nuts, seeds and dried fruits are available in packages of 10, 12.5, 15 and 25 kg. We can offer
the syrups and pastes in 3, 10-litre buckets and 200-kg drums.

Horizon Natuurvoeding sets the bar high when it comes to quality. We have three quality control employees on staff. They monitor the quality of the raw materials by testing them for taste, smell, colour, size, fat and moisture content. Roasting and grinding are the most important steps for the quality of nut pastes. With our in-house production line, we have control of this process. Meticulous quality controls take place throughout the production process. Every morning, our quality control staff taste the nut and seed pastes produced the previous day. Despite our growth, we have always stayed true to our original mission. We make pure products from 100% organic raw materials and without artificial additives and added sugars. We hold the FSSC 22000 certificate since 2023; an internationally recognised guarantee that we conduct our operations in a food-safe manner. This certificate also shows that we take measures against food fraud and external threats.
All Horizon nuts, dried tropical fruits and seeds carry the European organic quality hallmark. The inspection takes place in compliance with EU regulations. In the Netherlands, Skal Biocontrole is the independent organisation for monitoring the entire organic food chain. Through supervision, certification and information, this foundation is committed to ensuring a demonstrable organic product for consumers. All our products carry the organic quality hallmark, issued by Skal. Our imported raw materials are certified by the controlling authorities in the country of origin.
